The Minimi project: Dungarees skirt pattern testing

I guess you all know The minimi project? They made an upcycling sewing book, give workshops and soon there will be a digital pattern shop. I was one of the happy testers for these upcoming patterns!

The dungarees skirt is made of a shirt. It's amazing to see how much of the shirt the pattern recycles. The two pleats in the skirt are made by skipping one button in the original shirt. See the dungarees appear in the orange lines (photo by the minimi project)

I chose a mens shirt with medium weight jeans fabric. For size 18 months you do need a shirt that is large enough for the skirt length, if you want to recycle the button strip as a waistband.

The flap of the shirt pocket became a little pocket on the front part of the dungarees. All the buttons are also the originals. 

The only new part about the dungarees is the bambi application, which I saved for a long time.

Since this was a really cheap outfit, it deserved something extra. I couldn't resist and bought the ubercute fox socks from mini dressing.
