Today we are part of the massive Louisa coat pattern tour! Since I'm a big fan of the Compagnie M signature style, I had to try the Louisa Coat at first hand. Our sewing weekend was the perfect opportunity to work on this coat for a whole day without interruptions.
The pattern contains everything you dream of in a coat pattern: different collars, a hood, zipper or button closure, sleeve cuffs,... And above all, the coat has a beautiful fit, even if you keep it plain and simple, just as I did.
Marte announced a big Louisa coat contest, so that got me thinking ;-) Besides making a straight forward beautiful coat, I needed to add an amazing detail.
To make a bow closure I glued the Louisa pocket to the zipper flap and cut this pattern piece as one out of my fabric. When the coat is open it looks like the picture above, but when the you close the coat you get a cute little bow.
I combined the superbe pink wool from the children's design brand MAAN bought at Mondepot with bronze paspel at the bow, zipper flap and pockets in the side seams.
The Louisa coat is totally approved by Lila! Pink, bling bling, a bow and what she loves most is the übercute lining. A while back I bought 50 cm of quilted fabric with ice bears at Miss Matatabi, just enough for a size 3 Louisa coat lining.
To recieve a 10% reduction, use the code LOUISACOAT10, valid until November 6th, when the Louisa coat contest begins! Let's play with this great pattern!
